  • The Bag Ha market is a traditional meeting place for ethnic Hmong villagers, especially the Hmong Flower people.

​

  • The market is popular with travelers because it allows visitors to see the Flower Hmong (Red Hmong), Black Dao, Tay, Nung, La Chi, Phu La and other minority groups  people of North Vietnam in their traditional dress. Organized into several areas, (handicrafts, animals, food and bric a brac), the Bac Ha market is held every Sunday.

  • The Bac Ha Market guided tour provides a rich experience, as we explain the meaning and history of these traditional mountain people and the market products and produce.

​

  • As your guides, we also help you visit some nearby villages to soak up the culture of the Hmong Flower People.

  • Drive to Bac Ha (110km / 2.5 hours from Sapa, or 72km / 1.5 hours from Lao Cai). 

​

  • 7:00 am pick up from your hotel in Sapa or at the train station in  Lao Cai and take a long drive to the market.

  • 9:30 Arrive the market take time to wander around the market, enjoy the atmosphere and have fun trying out your trading skills with the friendly local people.

  • 12:00 Have lunch in a local restaurant where a variety of foods are available for your delectation and delight. You can even try the traditional local lunch of Thang Co (horse stew) and strong corn wine!

  • 13:30 After lunch you will be driven to Ban Pho village where you can take a short walk around the village where Flower Hmong, Tay and Nung minorities live.

  • 14:30 Drive back to Lao Cai or Sapa.

Pick Up 

  • From your hotel in Sapa, at Sapa bus station, at Lao Cai train station or in front of Sapa Church 

Drop-Off 

  • At your hotel in Sapa, at the Sapa center or at the train station in Lao Cai city

Important note:

  • If you have a hotel in Sapa, We highly recommend you to leave your luggage there, if you don't have a hotel in Sapa you can leave your luggage with us once we meet you at Sapa Church at 9 AM.
