You’ll see the Flower Hmong (Red Hmong), Black Dao, Tay, Nung, La Chi, Phu La, and other ethnic groups in their colorful traditional attire. Divided into distinct sections—handicrafts, animals, food, and bric-a-brac—the market is held every Sunday, bustling with life and cultural charm.

On this guided tour, you’ll gain insight into the fascinating history and traditions of the mountain communities, as well as the unique products and produce they bring to the market. Our guides will also take you to nearby villages, offering a deeper connection with the culture of the Hmong Flower people.
Itinerary

7:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Sapa or the train station in Lao Cai for a scenic drive to Bac Ha (110 km / 2.5 hours from Sapa or 72 km / 1.5 hours from Lao Cai).

9:30 AM: Arrive at Bac Ha Market. Spend time exploring the vibrant market, enjoying the lively atmosphere, and practicing your bargaining skills with the friendly locals.

12:00 PM: Have lunch at a local restaurant. Choose from a variety of dishes or try the traditional specialties of the region, including Thang Co (horse stew) paired with strong corn wine.

1:30 PM: After lunch, visit Ban Pho Village, home to the Flower Hmong, Tay, and Nung minorities. Take a leisurely walk through the village and observe the local way of life.

2:30 PM: Depart from Ban Pho and drive back to Lao Cai or Sapa.
